About February 14th

On behalf of your parents I would like to apologise.

They were just teenagers,

Caught up in a moment

That they thought would consummate their love,

Even though they had no idea what love was.

You were an unforseen consequence to their actions.

They thought they had been safe,

They weren't.

Their judgment clouded by their hormones,

And the end result was you,

They didn't plan it.

But they never had the right to murder you.

I am sorry you were conceived at a time when nobody was okay with the idea of supporting a teenager who was pregnant,

Because hey these things happen.

I'm sorry you existed in a society where your parents saw it fit to rob you of your right to life,

Just so that they could save face in front of their families and pretend like nothing ever happened.

I'm sorry you never got to see the sun,

Nor did you get to feel the warmth of a mother's hug,

Rather you felt the sting of her cruelty and selfishness.

I'm sorry that your first and last memory was pain.

I'm Sorry that you are one of many tragic deaths born of this accursed holiday.

I'm sorry...
